Welcome to my world! I'm KANYSHA, a multi-genre singer, songwriter, actress, performer and lover of strawberries!
As a Washington D.C. Native, I've studied music at The Duke Ellington School of the Arts, The Washington National Opera Institute, The New Washingtonians Jazz Institute, The San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and George Mason University. I suppose that's my long-winded way of saying, I love music, and I do my best to learn as much as I can about it.
My journey has taken me all over the world, and I've had the honor of performing at some of the country’s most famous venues such as New York City’s Carnegie Hall and The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington DC. These days, you can find me at the theatre, in the recording studio, or at Strathmore, where I'm currently participating in their Artist In Residence Program!
As an artist, I'm committed to uplifting and resonating with audiences and celebrating the resilience, beauty, messiness and strengths that come with being alive. Dynamic story-telling, quirkiness, emotion and musicality are the tools I wield to shine a spotlight on the experiences that shape our shared humanity.

Kanysha release 2nd single from her upcoming album "Strawberry sessions" .
A funky, neo-soul anthem about warning listeners to tell the truth, B.H.W.O. is a story of infidelity, growth, and leaving negativity in the "slow lane".
